Garbage disposal pipe configuration, tight spot

Only fixed a couple of sinks in bathrooms and they were fairly straight forward but now I'm attempting a garbage disposal and it's not looking pretty :eek:
If you can see the attached photos, I'm thinking I have the pipes too long vertically which would cause too much standing water. I'm thinking I should just trim down the pipes to get less standing water in there.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Rotate the disposal. the outlet does not have to be in the back toward the wall.
If it is in that position for easier hook up for the dishwasher drain there are remedies for that as well.

let's say the existing outlet is now at 12 o'clock.

Rotate the disposal to 3 or 4 o'clock.

In my case I don't have to worry about a dishwasher so I'm OK there. Your drawing will really help, thank you! I'll give that a try tonight.
