I have a 6" x 6" black plastic "lid" with four bolts sitting on top of a PVC pipe in a 16" x 16" hole in my basement floor. It looks like it could be some type of a "clean out" device or maybe a floor drain of some kind. On the top it has a label "Jones UPC". It sits very near a traditional clean out for the primary drain pipe that goes upstairs in my house. This "Drain" is near other plumbing in my basement floor for a toilet and a vanity. I'm hoping the builder had the foresight to install a shower drain. What is this thing?

To my knowledge Jones four bolt accessable top backwater valves are only cast iron.
Their plastic backwater valves use round type of access.

Indeed it is a backwater valve. After you posted that it might be a backwater valve, I googled Jones Backwater valve and there are several matching photos.
