I'm having a problem with a fairly new (2+ years old) GE reverse osmosis unit. The unit will not refill after emptying. I have changed out the filters. One of my children was playing around and let some air out of the pressurized storage tank. Some one told me that it takes 7-9 psi and I've filled it with approx that amount, but no go. If I take apart the filters and unscrew the shut-off cover and take out and put back the check-ball assembly, put it all back together, it will refill!!! But once it's full it won't recharge unless I do it all over again. Does anyone have any ideas??? It seems like it would be a simple fix, but I can't wrap my head around it.

I understand this is not much help, but I would recommend contacting GE, or attempt to find their website, because I have no knowledge on them.

GE was no help. None of their water 'specialists' seemed to have an answer for ANY of my questions. Also, nothing in the manual or the troubleshooting section. GE's suggestion was to call an 'authorized service representative' to come out and fix it. After the new filters and 1 other part, I'm already into this for about $150. The service call will be at least another $100. The unit cost about $300 new. I'm fielding all suggestions at this point. Thanks for the reply though :)

I get my RO water at a nearby water store. RO systems under the sink take up to much room and are a pain in the @ss.

I was wondering how it was a pain..? No volume? No pressure? Poor quality? Noisey? I would think rationing and hiking-n-hauling for good quality drinking water would be a pain, though.

Greetings,

I hate to say it, because I work for GE, but I really do not like the GE consumer water products. I had a GE RO and it was nothing but grief.

I now have a Microline that works quite well.
