I have a shower on the right and a toilet to the left of it and then the line drains both to the left to city sewer. The shower drains perfectly but the toilet backs up and the shower bubbles when you flush the toilet.

I took the toilet off and snaked it 25 feet and heard a satisfying splash like I caught a clog. I then put Drano in the line. I replaced the toilet. It still backs up and the shower still drains fine although it still bubbles when the toilet is flushed.

I put root killer in although I know that can take time to work. Do you think it could be roots? What else could it be?

It could be alot of things. My guess is you still have a clog somewhere down the sewer line. I'd recommend that you just pay a specialist to get rid of the clog, once and for all. He will also be able to tell you if this is a root, vs paper, vs collapsed line. Also, don't use that Drano crap. It does not work. if you hire a specialist, make sure you tell him that you used that caustic stuff so he can wear gloves and glasses to protect himself from the Drano.
