Hello,

Every time I open my bathroom shower or my bathroom faucet (hot water) located at a second floor, I start hearing sounds in the first floor, right below the bathroom area.

The sound is like drops of water hitting the floor inside the wall (one every 15 seconds approx.) but the only problem is that is not signs of leaks or water or humidity on the floor or on the wall.

This is only happen with hot water.

Any ideas or helps???

Thanks

Ed

This is a common problem with hot water pipes expanding and contracting, and not securing the pipes properly in the wall. If you have a crawl space in the attic, and your pipes run thru the attic, you can sometimes install nylon pipe sleeves to protect it from rubbing against wood studs, making this expansion/contraction a little more quieter.

If this is not an option, you might have to remove some drywall where the noises are coming from, and install the nylon sleeves. Once it's secure, you can reinstall the drywall.
