I've been in my house for a little over 2 years now, and our basement toilet water level has always been low. It's way, way lower than it needs to be.
I have a well and septic, the toilet in question flushes into a turd tank in the floor. I'm not sure but i think it vents out to the exterior wall, threw a dryer outlet that the flapper is stuck closed but probably isn't seeled tight.
so the toilet seems to function properly ( flushes fine too) allowing water to attempt to fill the bowl. the problem seems to be, the water would rather run down the drain than fill the bowl. even dumping a couple gallons of water into the bolw will not increase the water height. as i pour in water, the level never increases, it just stays low, how can this be?`
I just can't wrap my mind around the concept of how the water can get past the trap.
