I have two steam radiators on third floor with gas boiler in basement. These two radiators are dead as a doornail and have tried all of the obvious fixes. I don't think they are connected somewhere. Is there a way of finding the disconnection point without ripping open walls and following piping?

try and trace the piping, you may have a valve off in the boiler room.

it sounds to me like maybe you should call a plumber, or hvac technician

I would be looking at the vent on the radiator.
If the vent isn't working the seam can not move through the line. Post a picture of the type vent you have on that radiator. Depending on the type vent you have there are a couple of simple tests you can do to see if it's working.
The vent would be on the other side opposite from the valve and half way up on the radiator.

either you are air bound, crack open a union to check if you are.
or, a valve is off in your boiler room
check boiler room valves.
