If one have room to use a street long sweep (3 inch) directly under a toilet flange is that option as preferable as using a 4 x 3 closet bend? I have holes in the subfloor which is covered in wonderboard and the holes are set for 3 inch flanges and not 4 inch flanges. Any reason to not use 3 inch sweeps instead of closet bends, or are closet bends better for some reason.

Thanks everyone.

One thing I do a lot of since I have gotten into service plumbing, is repair/replace closet flanges. It is much easier for me(and cheaper for my customers) to do when I am dealing with a 4x3 flange inside of 4" pipe.
