I would love to have a water well in my backyard for emergencies where the city water isn't operational. I live in the city and they frown upon private wells.
Water table here is very shallow, probably only 20 feet or so, so drilling shouldn't be difficult, except for the fact that we have very thick, dense clay.
Any experienced well drillers/installers in Houston who would like to work on a project like this?
I figure having a hand pump and a separate head with a solar powered electric pump would give me lots of flexibility for emergencies, but then I'm a city boy and wells are new to me.
