About a year ago I had the plumbing replaced with PVC plumbing pipe.
Water going through the pipes is quite noisy. A visit to Home Depot
was a shock when i saw the insulation was around $8.00 for an 8 foot length.
The PVC insulation being more expensive the copper insulation.
Is there a source for less expensive insulation but good insulation?

Thanks

This is the down side of PVC pipe. Noise has always been a problem. Most insulation for pipes is not made to lower noise, but to prevent condensation.

Yes pvc pipe makes a lot of noise. especially the hot . Get some spray foam on them . It will come off pretty easy if you have to get back to it.

If your talking about water pipes then the cracking noise is the pipes expanding/contracting as they heat and cool when the water passes through them. I've had success putting insulation on the pipes and securing every 6 feet or so with a strap over the insulation.
