I'm going to guess the problem is either at the shower drain flange, of a bad seal at the transition between the wall and floor of the shower. Take a close look and post some pictures if possible,

Yep. Without a picture it is hard to tell exactly what is needed. I still recommend replacing the shut off valve with one which allows a braided supply line to be screwed into it.
