It took me a few hours to finally find the right tool for removing and installing a Newport Brass/Brasstech shower valve. The company recommends a 5/8th inch spark plug socket. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a socket that would allow the stem to fit through the socket. I ended up at a motorcycle shop and purchased a KT spark plug wrench for motorcycles that works perfectly on the shower valve. I put a 13mm deep socket on the other end that connects to my socket wrench. It took 5 minutes to remove and install the new valve.
