moen shower diverter

I have a moen shower assembly single handle in my bathroom. The problem is every time someone else uses the water in the house the water pressure in the shower reduces just a little and the hot water decreases(gets cooler) until they stop using it...I should say this happens in both showers......any thoughts, someone said it is my diverter?

It could also be the way your home was plumbed in the first place.

It must be an older stile Moen faucet. The newer ones by code are balance pressure that prevents the problem your having. You either live with it or up grade to a newer code compliant shower faucet.

does that involve tearing the wall out?

The best way to access it would be by opening the wall behind the faucet if possible. They do make repair plates to replace it from the shower side but that can get a little more involved.
