Default Add a basement shower

We will be finishing our basement in the next 6 - 12 months and I have a question about shower drains. The basement has a bathroom roughed in, but there is no rough in for a shower, only a toilet, and what looks like 2 vanities (1 1/2 vented) that are about 2ft apart.

My question is, can we install a shower drain without tearing up the floor? The ceiling is 7'10" and the floor will be tile. Can I build a stand for the shower and tie the drain into the 1 1/2 that is roughed in above the floor line as long as I keep the slope at 1/4" p/f or more? The drain line could then be hidden in the wall.

If this cannot be done, then I'll need to remove the concrete and tie in.

UPC(Uniform Plumbing Code) requires a 2" drain for showers.

I would NOT drain a shower with inch and a half pipe.

Upc also requires a 1-1/2" vent for a shower. In my jurisdiction you don't have to vent it if you tie into a horizontal main.

Is that based on thew volume of water it can hold? What would be the disadvantage of the 1 1/2?

I believe it is based on how much water an average shower puts out.

I don't think 1-1/2" would be able to keep up.

Thank you. I figured as much, but wanted to make sure.
