Default Toilet tank will not fill.

This problem just started. The tank is not filling even when the float is in the down position. However I found that if I turn the water supply valve off and then turn it back on the tank will fill. Any ideas?
Thanks

Sounds like it could be a sticky valve in the fill assembly. Might look there. I don't know what they cost, but it might be easier to just replace it.

I'm not a plumber, just my $.02

Purchase a Fluidmaster Valve # 400 (Lowe's Item # 24408) for your toilet. Before the final connection, place the supply line in a bucket and open and close the water valve several times, and flush out any sediment. After flushing the sediment, connect the supply line, and you should be fine.
