Default Left Side of Sink draining slowly

I purchased a new dishwasher and installed it. I opted to used the connection to the garbage disposal on the right side of the sink instead of reusing the air gap.

The left side of the sink had a T off of the drain pipe that also connected to the air gap. In addition to that T, it also had what looked like a water purifier connection that was kinked and zip-tied.

I went to home depot and picked up a 12" flanged 1.5" PVC and replaced everything on the left side and hooked the dishwasher up to the garbage disposal on the right side. The dishwasher ran and drained fine and the right side of the sink drains fine. However, the left side of the sink now drains slowly and gurgles. If the water is left on, it is too much for the sink to drain. I assume I need the gap back, but I would like to avoid having the counter-top air-gap if possible as I replaced that with a soap dispenser.

My original hookups were as follows:

My altered hookups look like this:

Is there anything I can do to remedy this without going back to having the air-gap on the counter?

Edit: Would fig 1 here work?

That way the disposal is gapping the dishwasher and left side?

notice that in the bottom picture that there is only 1 p-trap?

thats your problem, you should only have 1 p trap on the sinks and it must be served by a vent .

also these are TERRIBLLE drawings ( no offense to your drawing actually i refer to the lower ones ) because they illustrate an Un-vented configuration and an Illegal S trap installation that would syphon your sinks traps and allow sewer gasses to enter your home.. Do NOT install an S-trap .

sorry for my double post..

What Exactlly are you meaning by the counter top air gap ? there must by code be a 1" air gap at the spout.

Are you referring to an air gap in the drainage pipes? please specify .

Also, I would suggest a dishwasher Wye fitting to install on the fixture outlet pipe of the sink that is not served by the garberator... install it ABOVE the p trap .
