I was gonna say from the first post...
Pull the retainer clip.

- The first pic showed you pulled out the inner cartridge, bummer
I used the cartridge puller from Lowes, the one with the little bump on it that catches the inside of the outer cartridge to catch it, then pull it out. Some have recommended using a hair dryer on the cartridge to make it easier. I have never had to yet.

The lowes black metal cartridge puller worked in this same exact situation because it has a little bump on the puller that catches an edge on the outer shell of the cartridge. I had to use some plastic to hold down the 'bump' on the cartridge puller while I inserted it, but once I got in, it worked.

Its tough but definitely doable.
