Default drain questions, please help

Hi,

We have a cleanout pit in the frontyard and it slightly overflowed with sewege.
I used the bladder bag connected to water hose for 5min and it seems to help.

The pit is vertically 4 feet deep and seems to slant towards street for about half a foot. I could not push any further down.
From the top, I can always see the sewage standing for about 3.5 feet.
When someone flushes the toilet, it rises slowly a few inches and then drops back.
Is this normal? Should I put the bladder bag for a longer duration?

Thanks very much

You may need a power auger. Sounds like a heavy clog, or the line is broken and sagging.

If you are connected to city sewer then your line should be empty except when things are flowing by after a flush. What you described sounds like a normal cleanout that slant at the bottom is the wye. There is definitly something blocked up. I have run into sewer mains that were blocked therefore sewage would fill up the cleanouts. What is the line made of?
