Default Improving PF

I would like to find ways to improve PlumbingForums and need some feedback.

How could we improve the Professional plumbers section here?

Should it be expanded or stick with a single forum for now?

Colors hard to read?

So you think expanding the Pro section into subcategories would solicit more interest?

I would keep it with a single forum. There are not enough posts on it to start breaking it up at this time.

I'm not sure what you mean by this.

The Forum looks good just the way it is in my opinion. You have the Professional Plumbers Forum which is similar to a couple Forums I have on my Site. This allows the tradesmen/women to shoot the breeze without the meddling of the general public. This helps keep the tradesmen friendly with one another and keeps them coming around. I also have one called Privileged
Characters which allows Moderators to grant permissions by recommendation of other members. It gives people a feeling of superiority even if they aren't in the trades. I think it works better than the ranking system.

You have done a good job with your Forum and don't really know much that could be added that you haven't already thought of.

Any suggestions on things I could do to increase activity or attract more tradesmen?

I don't get here as much as of late so I can't say much. But less is more on forums. Simple is good. Pros only is best.

I think this forum could be a good place to sticky things that may help others in their day to day... such as new products and installation advice. products you like or dislike and why. There are many different pro's in varios areas on PF and I think that someone moving into a new branch of the trade could benafit from the experience of others.

For example, I have never installed a well and if I were to do so I would obviously have no idea what to expect or problems I might encounter allong the ways. As such many commercial plumbers have never learned some service tricks ( like the old White bread to plug the line ) and some who know these things may not be aware of new products intended to serve the same perposes ( such as pascos In line ball plug for the same perpose of the bread )

I think this section of forum is good without branching, though if I were to suggest branching of the forum I would figure.

Products,
Buisness advice
Practices
Poducts
LEgal

as seperate branches.

I will think about this and try to offer any further suggestions I can .

I agree with liquid, products business advice and marketing. Seems like not too many people posting updates. I feel like it may need more traffic how to get it? I have no idea just my 02 cents. I read on the forum all the time and I myself I'm guilty of not posting on everything I read.
