Default Different size hot water supply line

Hi, my house was built in theearly 1950's in northern California, it is a flat top that is on a slab foundation(no crawl space no attic). My problem is my new hot water heater has 3/4" fittings for water in and also hor hot water out, going into the house, but the hot water line(copper tubing) is 1/2" and it goes into the concrete slab and then into the house. How do i make this a 3/4" line? just putting a reducer on it to go from 3/4" to 1/2" is not going to work is it as it will build up to much presure?

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP, Dempsey
P.S. Any tips on how to get a old old gas line that is stuck where the 1/2" tubing goes together with the stub in 1/2" pipe, the pipe dope is all hardened and it wont budge?

reducing a pipe will not increase the line pressure, it WILL decrease the flow though. you can reduce/increase the line to accomodate the hwt.

If your not familiar with gas piping I would advise you to hire a qualified plumber to install your gas water heater. You can't put a price on the safety of you and your family.
