Should I just replace all the guts in my tank?

My house came with a flushometer setup that I want to get rid of (for resale aesthetics mainly). The rough-in for the toilet was 8 inches, so I took the wall back a bit to make room for the new toilet, now how should I go about getting the supply line connection I need? Right now it has a tee that leads straight to the flush valve. I need to get the tee out of the way because it sticks out taking room away needed for the tank. So should I turn the tee so it is out of the way and cap it? Then do I need to cut into the pipe to hook up the supply line to the tank? Here is a pic that may help you understand what I'm talking about:

Sewage stench (not the pee trap)

I have an unbearable stench coming from my sewer drain in the basement. Here I’ve been dealing with this for 1 year, on and off.

I have an unbearable stench coming from my sewer drain in the basement. Here I’ve been dealing with this for 1 year, on and off.

My father in law first thought it was the washer water that was coming back up and festering in the drain, but he re-piped everything and the stench came back.

The only time the smell was completely gone was when we had a ton of rain. I am guessing that the rain water (which drains through there) washed everything out.

My pee trap is full and the water level in the drain actually sits higher than usual (but it doesn't seem like a problem). I checked my main out and everything seems to be flowing out without a problem, so there seems to be no clogging. I can pour buckets of fresh water down the drain and the water is clear again, but it seems like dirty water begins to float back up after some time...

I have no clue what to do. Any initial thoughts?

I'm hoping someone can explain this behavior. About once a day, our toilet will suddenly just drain out. The cistern remains filled, the toilet doesn't actually flush, it just drains down until it gurgles; shortly afterwards, the tub and the sinks will begin to gurgle too. The noise from the sinks and tub will stop as soon as a little water is run down them. The toilet will continue to drain for a short while, though - it usually takes several flushes (anywhere from three to eight or nine) before it stops and the water level settles.

After that, it's normal again for the rest of the day, and you'd never know anything weird had happened at all. There's no smell accompanying any of this, either.

Also, while it's still slow draining, the water in the toilet rocks a lot; back and forth, like a tide machine, instead of just level. Once the slow draining stops, the water levels again. No idea if that's important, figured I'd mention it in case.

Slow Draining Bathroom Sink

I currently have one bathroom sink that is draining slowly. I took apart the s-trap and there is no clog there or around the stopper. I believe it...

I currently have one bathroom sink that is draining slowly. I took apart the s-trap and there is no clog there or around the stopper. I believe it maybe a venting problem because the sink backs up almost immediatly after the water is turned on. If I losen the pvc connetion after the s-trap that connects it to the in floor drain pipe the water in the sink drains faster, however the connection starts to leak.

No other fixture in the house has this drainage problem. This particular sink drains into a main drain pipe that other fixture connect to and the vent pipe goes through the roof, so I am not sure what the problem is.

Could the run from this fixture to the main drain be partially blocked causing a venting problem? as I said previously there is no drainage problem after the trap, but could a partially blocked run to the main drain cause some kind of pressure issue in the trap?

So my brother decided to replace an old flapper. Well you know how that goes.

It appears that the overflow tube and the flapper circular ring are one piece. He broke the ears off the circular ring so you cant just swap a new ring onto it. We tried just getting a one piece rubber flapper and ring but it sits too high and gets stuck in the up position so you have to fix it by hand.

Whats the best way to fix this?

hello all, I'm new to the forum.

Have a question for some of the pros out there. My house was built in 2007. I recently was in my basement and noticed that one of the longer cpvc runs (about 30 ft) has moved about 1.5 inch from when it was originally installed. I noticed this because the installers marked where the hanger originally was on the pipe (see pic 1866 - the pencil mark in the original, the black mark is me recently).

My concern is not so much with the movement, but where other pipes meet this pipe. Instead of a nice 90 degree angle, the adjoining pipes are being bent by the 1.5 - 2 in (see pics 1865 and 1864).

One other point, this is only on the hot water line while the pipe is cold. It expands by and inch or so when the pipe heats (which I understand is normal for cpvc). The installers did allow for expansion at the end of the run (pic 1864).

Should I be concerned about the bending in the adjoining pipes or is the cpvc flexible enough to absorb the bending?

any thoughts would be appreciated
